Father Brian Doran Senior Priest, Holy Angels Church of the Deaf Father
Brian Doran, the third of nine children, was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1942.
When he was 13 years old his family moved to Los Angeles where he attended Daniel Murphy
Catholic High School, St. John's College and St. John's Seminary. He was ordained in 1971
in St. Vibiana Cathedral by Cardinal Timothy Manning.His first assignment was as Associate Pastor of St. Anthony Church in Long Beach, where he also taught at St. Anthony's High School. He next served as the Associate Chaplain at Rancho Los Amigos County Hospital in Downey from 1973 though 1976, while also ministering to the hearing impaired Catholic Community. He directed the Office for Handicapped People, coordinating the activities of the hearing impaired, visually impaired and developmentally disabled. In 1987 Father Brian became founding pastor of Holy Angels Church of the Deaf, for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Father Doran directed the program for Continuing Education of Clergy for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles from 1998 through 2002. He is currently Senior Priest at Holy Angels Church of the Deaf. He continues to reside at St. Ambrose where his primary ministry is to the Gay and Lesbian community. |
